Who Makes a Good Peer Support Navigator?
FIRST welcomes applications from individuals and caregivers/parents who:
- Have personal experience with ichthyosis or a related condition
- Demonstrate empathy, compassion and strong listening skills
- Are comfortable sharing their experiences appropriately
- Understand the role and responsibilities, including maintaining appropriate boundaries and not providing medical advice or counseling
- Want to support others and help strengthen the community
Peer Support Navigators receive training and ongoing support from FIRST.
