Zydus Lifesciences recently received final approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its 12% Ammonium Lactate Cream, a topical treatment used for dry, scaly skin conditions including ichthyosis vulgaris. The cream works by increasing skin hydration, helping to soften skin, reduce scaling, and relieve itching. The approval marks another step toward expanding treatment access for individuals living with inherited skin conditions.
According to reports, the medication will be manufactured in Ahmedabad, India, and distributed in the United States by Viona Pharmaceuticals.
