FIRST is a national non-profit organization connected to its members and families by the special skin and unique management needs of individuals affected with ichthyosis and related skin types.

Our mission is to educate, inspire, and connect those touched by ichthyosis and related disorders through emotional support, information, advocacy, and research funding for better treatments and eventual cures.

Governed by a Board of Directors and guided by a Medical & Scientific Advisory Board, FIRST provides accurate and timely information to meet the medical, social, and educational needs of our community.
